The museum is housed in an impressive 1920s building set in about 7 acres of grass, trees and shrub beds. The River Blackwater runs through the site offering riverside picnic areas. A large triple-expansion steam engine is currently on display as the main exhibit with many other sources of power on show. Eventually, there will be samples of all sources of power and other items in the museum to educate and entertain.
